Ok,
- Just because you received 2 voter registration cards does not mean that you get to vote 2x.
- And just because our city has already messed up part of the election, and I'd say there is a 50/50 chance we'll have to have a re-election at substantial cost to the taxpayers.
- And just because you don't like any of the candidates.
- And just because....well you get my drift here
you STILL have a civic obligation to VOTE! If you weren't one of the nearly 500 who voted in our city election in early voting tomorrow is your day! If you didn't vote in the water district election, tomorrow is your day!
There are NO excuses that you either didn't vote, or don't vote. When you don't vote, all the other idiots in the world (guys like me) get to pick for you! So you get to live with what I (and those like me) decide, not what you want.
No excuses.
Go vote in our local elections. County and state are coming up too, then we'll get a reprieve until November.
So VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!!
God Bless,
Dennis
please let us in on the secret.we're not in the know on the mess up by the city.
ReplyDeleteThere were some ballots that were not signed for in early voting the first morning. Not a very good secret I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteThus far it has been business as usual in the city election. Questionable ballots are not a surprise. Campaigning violations and questionable financing, nope no surprises. It's pretty disgusting for the "election judges' to allow the favored candidate for mayor to have a supporter park his vehicle with a huge sign on it right at the front door of city hall. This same supporter has signs on TXDot right of way, again in violation of state law.
ReplyDelete10:07 PM, 5/12, and no city election results?
ReplyDeleteThe voters have spoken. I just hope they are just as smart in November.
ReplyDeleteI pray Novembers election is something we can celebrate, but honestly I'm not sure there is a lot of celebrating either way.
ReplyDeleteIt was an interesting race locally. I hope we'll have 2 very productive years.
As for the results not coming out till about 11:45 last night I understand that the early voting ballots were having a time reconciling. One would count and the recount wouldn't come out the same. Over and over again.
Dennis
Now that the voting is over, what is the time limit for politicians to remove their signs?
ReplyDeleteI'm not certain, but I've seen them coming down all over town already.
